Rules View

This is an alternative view of Cases, shown as a set of "IF…AND…THEN" rules.

When a different sub-set (of a large number) of objects impacts the outcome of each Case, this view can provide a more compact representation of this type of logic. In the tabular Cases view, objects which do not impact the outcome of a Case are shown with the value "*", meaning "regardless of the value of this Object". Whilst in the Rules View only objects which impact each specific outcome are shown, linked as "AND" conditions.

If this view is not already activated, then you can activate it by clicking the Toggle Rules View icon on toolbar of the Cases editor.

The Rules View presents a split screen editor, with the left-hand side listing all the Rules, and the right side listing all the objects that can be used by the rules. To include an object in a rule, it must first be added to the list of 'Objects', by a process of 'drag and drop' from the Explorer view. Use the 'Insert' key to add a new rule and use the arrow icons 'Move Rule Up' and 'Move Rule Down' to re-order rules. To edit an individual rule double-click it and to add a condition to this rule, check the 'Included' checkbox for the required objects and select the required values (for each List object) or a 'comparator' and a 'threshold' (for each Numeric or Date object).
